Welcome

A Moment for You

I'm Melanie Stafford (MAR), a qualified reflexologist based in Norton St Philip near Bath, and two lovely locations in Wiltshire. I believe that true wellbeing begins with balance — and reflexology is one of the most beautiful paths back to it.

Why Reflexology?

Each session is shaped around you: at your pace, taking into consideration your health historyand the reflex points which may be congested.

The aim is to give relief from tension and to help 'your body' to rebalance any issues, or simply to give you a quiet hour of total relaxation and restoration.

Whether you are seeking deep relaxation, gentle relief from tension, or help to reset any imbalance, I'm here to guide you.

The Practice

Ancient Wisdom, Modern Wellbeing

Reflexology dates back nearly 5,000 years. It was practised in various forms by the Ancient Chinese, the Egyptians, and Indians. It was not until 1913, that Dr Willian Fitzgerald introduced 'zone therapy' to the Western World. Fitzgerald found that the practice helped to maintain good health, and prevent disease. This is now recognised as reflexology as we know it today.

Reflexology is a gentle, non-invasive therapy rooted in the principle that specific points on the feet — called reflex points — correspond to every organ, gland, and system in the body. By applying purposeful pressure to these areas, I work to encourage the body's own natural healing capacity and restore a sense of deep, whole-body balance.

Practised in various forms for thousands of years, reflexology sits beautifully alongside conventional medicine and everyday self-care — a complementary therapy that treats you as a whole person, not a set of symptoms.

Why Reflexology?

Crafted Around You

Non-Invasive

Reflexology works through the feet by stimulating reflex points which release blockages in the energy pathways. No needles, no manipulation, no disrobing. Reflexology is accessible and comfortable for virtually everyone

Tailored to You

Every session is shaped by your needs. Pressure, focus, and pace are adjusted throughout — this is never a one-size-fits-all type of treatment. Sessions can vary depending upon the shifting individual needs.

Deeply Relaxing

Most clients drift into a state of profound calm during a treatment. The nervous system settles, tension releases, and the mind finally quietens.

Rejuvenating

Beyond relaxation, reflexology aims to encourage the body to rebalance itself and heal, by working on specific reflex points on the feet. Some benefits include support of the circulatory system, improving lymphatic congestion, assisting digestion, and increasing the efficiency of the immune system. Sleep patterns, migraine, and hormonal changes can improve. It has been documented that reflexology can improve mood, sleep, and help reduce anxiety and tension. The aim is to help you feel restored from the inside out.'

Your First Visit

What to Expect

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. I take the time to understand your health and what you're hoping to achieve — so that what follows feels both safe and genuinely personal.

  1. A Warm Welcome & Consultation

We begin with a short, relaxed conversation about your health, lifestyle, and any areas of concern. Everything discussed is completely confidential.

  2. Settle In

You will recline comfortably in a treatment chair with a blanket if you like. Only socks and shoes need to be removed. I like to access the lower shins and ankles when I address the lymphatic system, so loose trousers are perfect.

  3. The Treatment

I work methodically across both feet, applying gentle but purposeful pressure to reflex points. Most sessions last around 60 minutes.

  4. Aftercare Guidance

I'll share simple aftercare advice before you leave. Drink plenty of water, rest if you can, and allow your body a little time to respond — some clients notice changes over the following 24–48 hours.

About Me

Your Reflexologist

Melanie Stafford, qualified reflexologist

My first experience of reflexology was just by chance, on a beach in Antigua in 1998. I was astounded by the skill of the practitioner, also my reaction both during, and after the treatment. I was surprised by what the elderly practitioner found in my feet, and I never forgot him, the treatment, and his kindness.

Years later, after working in a family property business, then married with four wonderful children, still working and studying in the Arts, life took an unexpected twist. This event forced me to evaluate, and take stock of everything.

I then worked as an assistant physiotherapist for seven years in a private clinic in Wiltshire. The knowledgeable, and experienced physiotherapist I worked with, inspired me to venture into a caring profession. I have not looked back.

I shall always be beholden to Sarah Jane Holt, my amazing tutor at The Devon School of Reflexology, for 'helping me reach my goal', and for her encouragement. Also to Bertie, who has had unwavering confidence in my complementary healing skills, and ability to launch my business at this stage in my life. His support has been invaluable.

My heartfelt thanks to them both.

Melanie
